ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities' positions on Artsakh not only fit perfectly with Azerbaijan's state policy framework, but also allow Baku to transform the arsenal used against Armenia into a more effective playing card. This is what Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition faction With Honor, writes.
According to him, the sham trial against Armenia in Baku has entered its final stage: the prosecutor has demanded sentences ranging from 16 years to life imprisonment for the Armenians involved.
"This is exactly what the world looks like for Azerbaijan's purposes: collecting dirt on the Republic of Armenia through a sham trial, which can be used against our country at any moment as a basis for provocation, a means of pressure, and a pretext for unilaterally failing to implement agreements. The authorities' positions on Artsakh not only fit perfectly with Azerbaijan's state policy framework, but also allow Baku to transform the arsenal used against the Republic of Armenia into a more effective playing card," the opposition figure noted.
The so-called judicial investigation of the former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh has concluded in Baku. The prosecutor has requested life imprisonment for Arayik Harutyunyan and David Babayan. Former presidents Bako Sahakyan and Arkady Ghukasyan will each be sentenced to 20 years. All others face 16 to 19 years in prison.
