ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Committee and the Investigative Committee are currently investigating more than a dozen cases related to violations at the Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC. Romanos Petrosyan, the company's interim manager, told journalists on November 13.
He stated that legal assessments will be given to all of these cases. Many of these facts were simply concealed by ENA. Petrosyan emphasized that if the Public Regulatory Commission decides to revoke ENA's electricity distribution license, the provisions of the Law on Energy will be enforced. "For me personally, as the company's interim manager, it became clear after just a few days that the situation, which had been concealed from the Public Services Regulatory Commission and other monitoring structures for a long period of time, had led to a crisis. As a result, the head of the PSRC had to launch proceedings against ENA and take precautionary measures, including appointing an interim manager," Petrosyan said. He added that his assumption about the possibility of revoking the company's license is based on violations uncovered during inspections.
In response to a question about the parliamentary opposition appealing to the Constitutional Court regarding the constitutionality of the adopted package of laws, which actually aim to nationalize ENA, Petrosyan noted that the Constitutional Court will consider the matter on December 16. However, until the Constitutional Court makes a decision, no one has the right to claim the current process is unconstitutional. "Let's wait for the Court's decision, and then we'll see," the company's interim manager said.
