ArmInfo.Obstructing election campaigning in Armenia has no prospects, as stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government session in the National Assembly on November 12, in response to a question from Alkhas Ghazaryan, a member of parliament from the ruling Civil Contract faction.
The MP, particularly, mentioned the pre-election situation in the enlarged community of Vagharshapat, where, according to him, the brother and nephew of Ktrich Nersisyan (Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II) were arrested and charged with obstructing election campaigning in the community. In this regard, Pashinyan noted that, unfortunately, the country lacks mechanisms for assessing the impact of obstruction of campaigning or the distribution of election bribes on election results. In Gyumri, for instance, a case of election bribes was reported, but no one can assess the impact of these bribes on the election results. The Prime Minister called for the consideration of such mechanisms.
