ArmInfo. As of the morning of November 12, a significant number of citizens have applied to join groups to view new military equipment acquired in recent years, as stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government session in the National Assembly on November 12, in response to a question from Mariam Poghosyan, a member of parliament from the ruling Civil Contract faction.
Pashinyan has previously proposed that groups of citizens (50 people each) be shown recently acquired weapons and equipment on a confidential basis. To participate, participants must form groups, send a list of participants with their passport information to the specified email address, indicate a contact person, and agree to maintain confidentiality. The date for the inspection will be set by a government representative. The MP specifically inquired about the reaction to the Prime Minister's initiative and the possibility of organizing a military parade to present this equipment.
In response, the Prime Minister of Armenia announced that visits by working groups to military units would be organized in the near future. Pashinyan emphasized that Defense Minister Suren Papikyan had previously suggested that members of the National Assembly view the acquired equipment and weapons. Regarding the military parade, the head of government noted that while some people believe it is necessary, there are also opposing views. This topic has become particularly prominent in Armenia following the military parade in Azerbaijan. "But frankly speaking, we are focused on peace and the peaceful agenda. Nevertheless, if such a parade were organized, the equipment on display would be very impressive," the head of the Armenian government said, expressing confidence that citizens who visit the military units will see this for themselves. Pashinyan emphasized that all citizens of the country can submit applications to participate in the visits, but only those who pass the screening process with the National Security Service will be eligible.
