ArmInfo.Armenia has never stated that the Trump route (TRIPP) should be implemented to the detriment of Azerbaijan's interests, as stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during government session in the National Assembly on November 12, in response to a question from David Danielyan, a member of parliament from the ruling Civil Contract faction.
Danielyan, specifically, inquired about the existence of a roadmap for the project and an approximate timeline for its implementation.
Pashinyan noted that he had come across a social media post from an Azerbaijani official claiming that the Trump route should be implemented taking into account Baku's interests. "But Armenia has never stated that the route should be used to the detriment of Azerbaijan's interests. We have signed a document on mutually acceptable terms. What are the terms acceptable to Azerbaijan? These are what the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan signed. The acceptable terms, as outlined in Point 3 of the Washington Declaration, include: territorial integrity of states, sovereignty of states, reciprocity, and the inviolability of borders," the Prime Minister stated, pointing to the claims of the second and third presidents of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan, about the conspiratorial nature of the TRIPP project. "Look, come and stand in front of me, and we'll see what happens. They constantly talk about conspiracies, but they refuse to debate. As if that weren't enough, now even the parliamentary opposition is taking turns refusing to discuss them," the head of government noted.
Speaking about the TRIPP project, Pashinyan noted that all its details should be presented on paper by the end of the year. The program should be agreed upon with its participants in the first half of 2026, and construction should begin in the second half of the following year.
According to the Prime Minister, this is the plan, but it should be kept in mind that, as experience shows, such projects always tend to deviate from the planned schedule. This is especially true given the ongoing global challenges, including in the Middle East, that American representatives are preoccupied with other matters. "Nevertheless, we will do everything possible to ensure the schedule is maintained," the Armenian Prime Minister emphasized.
