ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan rules out the involvement of American and British intelligence agencies in the creation of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of the Republic of Armenia.
Earlier, Arman Babajanyan, leader of the pro-Western "For the Sake of the Republic" party, had stated that the Foreign Intelligence Service (FIS) was established in Armenia with the assistance of the CIA and MI-6.
"Where are you getting this information? It's absurd. The Foreign Intelligence Service (FIS) was established in Armenia in 2023-2024. Prior to that, a corresponding law was passed, followed by a government decision." "It's possible that secret processes were involved. However, the US and UK have nothing to do with this; only the Republic of Armenia is involved," Pashinyan said in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly on November 12.
The Foreign Intelligence Service of Armenia, like any other foreign intelligence service, cooperates with colleagues from Russia, the US, the UK, and other partner countries, he added.
"I rule out the possibility that it was created (in cooperation with the CIA and MI6), and I'm not aware of it. And I rule out that something like this could have occurred without my knowledge," he concluded.
