Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Armen Ghazaryan, received a delegation led by Antje Fritz, Deputy Head of the Europe and Central Asia Division at the Geneva Centre for Security Affairs (DCAF) to discuss the possible areas for enhancing cooperation within the framework of the EU visa liberalization action plan.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Deputy Minister emphasized the need to expand cooperation in combating illegal migration, human trafficking, smuggling, as well as corruption and financial crime. He also highlighted the importance of the educational component to strengthen professional capacity: training programs, workshops, and experience exchange.
Fritz, in turn, presented several examples of best international practices. At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to study in detail the visa liberalization action plan and develop a joint conceptual proposal to define clear directions of cooperation.
