ArmInfo. Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the "Sacred Struggle" movement, demanded that the head of the Armenian Investigative Committee, Srbuhi Galyan, provide evidence of his alleged "terrorism" preparations by November 13. Galstanyan voiced this demand in a letter from the pretrial detention center where he has been held since summer. The letter was distributed by the "Sacred Struggle" movement's press service on Facebook.
According to Archbishop Bagrat, otherwise, the head of the Armenian Investigative Committee should be removed from office, stripped of his rank, and prosecuted for slander, deliberate distortion of the truth, and propaganda of lies. "In these days, when our inner world is consumed by the tragedy of defeat in a brutal war and the loss of our homeland, Artsakh, as well as the memories of the thousands of dead, missing, and wounded, our personal hardships seem insignificant. However, following my statement made in the courtroom on November 6, I once again insist that the head of the Investigative Committee is clearly a fraud and a liar," Galstanyan's message reads, emphasizing that there is no alternative to the victory of truth.
As a reminder, on June 25, 18 opposition figures and supporters of the "Sacred Struggle" movement, led by the movement's leader, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, were arrested. They are accused of attempting to "seize power." Recorded conversations between movement members are cited as evidence of their guilt. Experts have repeatedly stated that the illegal wiretaps were edited and presented in a favorable light.
