ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to former RA President Serzh Sargsyan's statement questioning how half of the air defense assets could have been lost in the first hours of a 44-day war.
"SS stated that he couldn't understand how it was possible to lose half of the air defense assets in the first hours of a 44-day war. It's not hard: the air defense system you left behind-not just individual assets, but the air defense system as a whole-was scrap metal. Scrap metal in the truest sense of the word. And the allies showed the three-finger combination in response to our requests to update it (they showed you the three-finger combination too, otherwise, in 2018, instead of scrap metal, it would have been something else).
And so, to avoid making it too obvious that they were showing us the three-finger combination, the allies symbolically gave us one or two things, 0.1% of what was needed, so that later, if the issue came up, they would have something to point to," he wrote on his social media.
Non-allies, the Prime Minister continued, also showed the three-finger combination, pointing to two circumstances:
1. Armenia's membership in the CSTO. 2. The fact that the funds provided could have been deployed in territories that are not the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. "We tried to get everything we could from wherever we could, while also striving to modernize it, following the advice and recommendations of the senior military officers (appointed by you) operating in the Republic of Armenia at the time. And why did you go and sit apposite those who are fed from your son- in-law's hand? If you have something to debate, let's have a live debate. But what is that -sitting opposite Mishik and debating with me? You'll bring LTP (Levon Ter-Petrosyan, the first president of the Republic of Armenia - ed.) and RK (Robert Kocharyan, the second president of the Republic of Armenia - ed.) with you, as well," the Prime Minister wrote.
