


ArmInfo. Armenian Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the police, laid flowers at the memorial wall honoring the police officers who died for their homeland and on duty during the 44-day war around Artsakh in the fall of 2020.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the same day, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, and the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the police visited the grave of Colonel Armen Vardanyan, commander of the 1033rd Police Unit and holder of the Order of the Combat Cross, First Class, in Echmiadzin to participate in the funeral ceremony and honor his memory. The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs recalled that during the 44- day war in the fall of 2020, on November 7, 39 police officers were killed under the command of Colonel Armen Vardanyan. Overall, 43 police officers lost their lives defending the homeland during the 44-day war. "Eternal glory to all police officers who died for the homeland and while on duty," the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
