On November 6, 2025, during her working visit to the Italian Republic, RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan met with Maurizio Blok, Chief Military Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Italian Republic. According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the meeting was also attended by Vladimir Karapetyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Italian Republic; Grigor Elizbaryan, Military Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia and Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia; and Yeghiazar Avagyan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, Anna Vardapetyan, expressing gratitude to the Italian side for the warm welcome, emphasized the importance of signing a Memorandum of Understanding on deepening cooperation between the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia and the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Supreme Court of Cassation of the Italian Republic. "The effective work of the Military Prosecutor's Office is of utmost importance in a democratic society. We are taking measures to strengthen and improve the qualifications of military prosecutors. Regular training courses are held on Articles 2 (right to life) and 3 (prohibition of torture), as well as Article 5 (right to liberty and security of person) of the European Convention on Human Rights. Effective protection of the rights enshrined in these articles is of paramount importance in strengthening human rights in the armed forces," noted the RA Prosecutor General, emphasizing the importance of constructive professional dialogue and interaction between military prosecutors on issues such as military justice and discipline, as well as the specifics of prosecutorial oversight of the legality of military investigations.
Anna Vardapetyan also thanked the Chief Military Prosecutor of Italy, Maurizio Bloch, for joining the editorial board of the scientific-practical journal "Legality" of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues related to deepening cooperation.
