Lawyer: Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan`s health  sharply worsened

ArmInfo. Today, on November 6, 2025, at around 4:00 PM, Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan's health deteriorated significantly, while he was in Kentron  Penitentiary in Yerevan. His lawyer, Zaruhi Postanjyan, shared this information on social media.

The penitentiary staff immediately called an ambulance, and Vardan  Ghukasyan was taken to the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center.

According to preliminary information, Vardan Ghukasyan is currently   receiving treatment at the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center.  "Details about his health are still  being clarified," the lawyer  wrote.

She noted that Vardan Ghukasyan has been in custody for 18 days.  Despite notifying the authorities conducting the proceedings and the  court about his health issues,  the decision to keep him in custody  was maintained, Postanjyan emphasized.
