ArmInfo. Serzh Sargsyan, third President of the Republic of Armenia, will remain free to leave the country. The Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia, chaired by Judge Givi Hovhannisyan, rejected the prosecution's motion to change the preventive measure against the former president.
During the court hearing, the prosecutor demanded to apply a preventive measure in the form of a travel ban against Serzh Sargsyan, citing operational data on his intention to leave the country. However, the judge rejected the motion, while upholding the bail requirement of 30 million drams. The prosecution's motion confused the former president, who noted that he has no intention of leaving the country. In a conversation with reporters, he stated, "Do I look like someone who would run away?! Even if I learn that the court intends to sentence me to death, I will not leave. This is my country," the former president said.
