
ArmInfo. The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (MECS) of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, will participate in the World Forum for Democracy, organized by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
As reported to ArmInfo by the press service of the MECS, the minister will deliver a speech at the plenary Asession entitled "How Culture and Cultural Policy Can Strengthen Democracy," presenting Armenia's experience and initiatives in promoting democratic values through culture and education, public engagement, and the preservation of cultural diversity.
According to the source, the forum will bring together representatives of government, political, and public structures from various countries to discuss contemporary challenges and paths to democratic development. The forum will include panel discussions on democratic processes in the media, the role of citizen participation, as well as cultural and creative initiatives and their development prospects. During his visit to Strasbourg, Andreasyan will also hold a series of bilateral meetings with high-ranking representatives of the Council of Europe. During these meetings, the parties will discuss issues related to the promotion of human rights and civic education, inclusive education and equal opportunities, educational reforms, and the role of education and culture in strengthening democracy.
It is worth noting that the 2025 World Forum for Democracy will be held from November 5 to 7 in Strasbourg under the title "Democracy under Threat: How Can We Revive It?" According to the organizers, the forum provides a platform for discussing solutions to key challenges facing democracies worldwide.
