
ArmInfo. Another TUMO Center for Creative Technologies will open in Vanadzor. The corresponding decision was approved by the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers on October 30.
According to the explanatory note to the document, the Simonyan Educational Foundation applied to the State Property Management Committee of the Ministry of Territorial Administration of the Republic of Armenia with a request to allocate real estate located in Vanadzor, Lori Province, for its reconstruction and the establishment of a TUMO creative center. The property is currently owned by the Republic of Armenia and is assigned to the Committee.
According to the current market value of the property, the estimated market value of the property as of May 8, 2024, was 365,125,000 drams. According to the proposed business plan (investment plan) for the donation of property to the Foundation, it is planned to reconstruct, improve, and refurbish the donated property, resulting in the creation of a public structure that, together with existing structures in the surrounding areas, will support the implementation of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies project in Vanadzor, which will provide approximately 27,000 young people with the opportunity to receive high- quality extracurricular education free of charge in 14 key areas. The Foundation will invest 1,800,000,000 drams over three years to implement this project. The project is currently underway and has no set completion date, the document states.
TUMO Centers for Creative Technologies have been operating in Armenia since 2011, when their headquarters were opened in Yerevan. Currently, there are six centers in various cities across Armenia, as well as a network of mobile "Tumo Boxes" in the regions (40). The total number of beneficiaries in the Republic of Armenia is 21,000 (teenagers aged 12 to 18). Tumo centers are also planned for Masis, Echmiadzin, Armavir, Martuni, Abovyan, Ashtarak, and Sisian. Besides Armenia, Tumo centers also operate in other countries, including France, Germany, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Portugal, Argentina, Russia, and Albania.
