ArmInfo. The clergy and church communities of the Patriarchal Delegation of Western Europe are following with deep concern the undesirable and disturbing events unfolding in the Republic of Armenia in recent months. The Armenian Apostolic Holy Church has been and remains a firm supporter of the Christian faith, the Armenian soul, identity, and national unity for centuries, as noted in a statement issued by the clergy and church communities of the Patriarchal Delegation of Western Europe.
It emphasizes that any step that could undermine the Church's internal peace and call into question its sacred mission is unacceptable. "We are following with concern the criminal cases brought by the state bodies of the Republic of Armenia against the clergy. Justice, transparency, and mutual love have been and remain the fundamental principles of our Christian faith and democracy. We call on and expect that the authorities of the Republic of Armenia be guided by the principles of justice, impartiality, human rights, and the rule of law. As always, and especially in these difficult days, together with our spiritual brothers and believers, we unanimously and unconditionally support His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch of All Armenians, in continuing his sacred mission and service in Armenia and the Diaspora. May the Lord turn away from us all division and hostility. We pray to God that love, hope, faith, and unity will spread among us for the benefit of strengthening our people and state. As the Apostle Paul exhorts: "Let all that you do be done with love," the statement reads.
