ArmInfo.Russia does not see itself as part of European integration and would not like its allies, especially Armenia, to be drawn into these destructive processes. Dmitry Litskai, Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, made this statement during the annual competition of student works titled "Armenia in the EAEU. Prospects of the Republic of Armenia's Participation in Eurasian Economic Union in Modern Conditions," held at the Russian-Armenian University (RAU).
In this regard, he noted that issues concerning the choice between Eurasian and European integration are currently being actively discussed in Armenia. The embassy counselor highlighted the importance of this choice in determining the country's future development. In this context, he emphasized that, from their perspective, it is essential to preserve the achievements made within the EAEU.
"This union was not born by chance, and to date, it has proven its sustainability and effectiveness. The EAEU is a community of equal partners striving to develop the economy, implement joint projects, and improve transportation links. All of this is accomplished on the basis of consensus, respect for each other's interests, and the search for mutually beneficial solutions in today's turbulent world, where economic and political processes are closely intertwined," Litskai emphasized.
He also added that the European Union is increasingly becoming an organization whose goals may conflict with the interests of its members. "Therefore, we do not see ourselves as part of this integration, and we would not want our allies, especially Armenia, to be drawn into destructive processes," the Russian Embassy adviser noted.
He expressed hope that the students' works submitted to the competition would be useful for public discourse and contribute to Armenia's understanding of the benefits of participating in Eurasian processes.
