
ArmInfo. The Armenian delegation, led by Sisak Gabrielyan, Chairman of the National Assembly Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth, and Sports, paid a working visit to Georgia from October 27 to 29.
As reported by the NA press service, during the visit, the delegation met with Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament; Giorgi Volsky, First Vice Speaker of the Parliament and Head of the Georgia- Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group; Giorgi Gabunia, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Culture; Irakli Zarkua, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Diaspora; and Givi Mikanadze, Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia.
During the meetings, issues related to Armenian-Georgian interparliamentary cooperation, education, science, youth, culture, and the diaspora were discussed, as well as the possible cooperation with Georgia within the framework of the large-scale "Academic City" project and the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative. The unblocking of regional communications and the recent developments in Armenian-Azerbaijani relations were also discussed.
On October 28, a joint meeting of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth, and Sports of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the Committee on Education, Science, and Youth of the Parliament of Georgia was held, co-chaired by committee chairs Sisak Gabrielyan and Mariam Lashkhi. The discussion focused on developing cooperation in education, science, and youth policy, as well as new opportunities for implementing joint programs. The delegation visited the Petros Adamyan State Armenian Drama Theater in Tbilisi, completely renovated with funds from the Cartu Foundation, funded by Bidzina Ivanishvili, Honorary Chairman of the "Georgian Dream" Party. The theater's grand opening will take place soon.
The RA National Assembly delegation also participated in the "National Teacher" award ceremony.
