


ArmInfo. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia announced that winter tires will be mandatory for all vehicles in the country from November 15 of this year to March 31 of next year. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the ban will apply to light-duty passenger cars and trucks with a maximum permitted weight of up to 3.5 tons.
"Furthermore, the ban will apply to vehicles with a residual tread height of 4 millimeters or less on winter tires intended for use on icy or snowy roads," the Ministry added. According to the source, administrative penalties are provided for failure to comply with these requirements. "One of the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is to create a safe environment for the lives and health of citizens. In this regard, the Ministry urges everyone to comply with road safety regulations, purchase winter tires with the required level of protection, and demonstrate responsible, legal, and law-abiding behavior," the Ministry concluded.
