ArmInfo. Approximately 571 million drams will be allocated for the purchase of continuous blood glucose monitoring sensors and a service plan for patients aged 0 to 18. The decision was approved by the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers on October 23.
Under the contract, children aged 0 to 18 will be provided with the latest continuous blood glucose monitoring systems. These systems predict hypoglycemic and hyperglycemic shocks, prevent complications, and accurately determine insulin dosage. The use of these sensors among children attending kindergartens and schools is crucial, as parents and doctors even when remotely located, will always have accurate blood glucose readings and can monitor their child's diabetes remotely. Additionally, according to the Minister of Health, this year the program will be expanded to include patients aged 18 to 28, who will receive free glucometer strips.
These measures will allow people with diabetes to live full lives, Avanesyan noted. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, noted that all registered children with type 1 diabetes will receive the sensors.
