


ArmInfo. During his visit to the Holy See, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.
According to the PM's office, His Holiness welcomed Prime Minister Pashinyan's visit to the Vatican and his participation in the canonization ceremony of Archbishop Ignatius Maloyan and six other blesseds. He noted the close relations between the Holy See and Armenia, particularly noting the role of the Mekhitarist Congregation of Venice in deepening these ties. The Prime Minister of Armenia once again congratulated His Holiness on his election as Pope, wishing him strength and success in fulfilling his sacred mission. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Pope Leo XIV, the tradition of close dialogue between the Holy See and Armenia will continue, as well as continued attention to matters of importance to Armenia.
During the meeting, regional issues were also discussed. The parties addressed the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and talked about humanitarian concerns. His Holiness welcomed the progress achieved in this regard and expressed hope that the establishment of peace in the region will mark the beginning of a new era of cooperation and stability.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Armenian government's commitment to a peace agenda for the benefit of Armenia and the prosperity and sustainable development of the region.
