NSS urges Armenian citizens to be vigilant

ArmInfo. Recently, attacks on internet platforms have become widespread in Armenia. 

These attacks are aimed at infiltrating, modifying, destroying, or  blocking (isolating) citizens' computer data without permission  provided by law, contract, or other legal basis, as well as other  actions affecting the operation of a computer, computer system, or  computer network, as noted in a statement issued by the National  Security Service of the Republic of Armenia.

Specifically, as noted in the statement, in order to deceive the  population through fraud or abuse of trust, and  illegally obtain  information constituting a banking secret, scammers posing as various  officials engage in false correspondence through various internet  communication applications,  particularly via WhatsApp.  "To avoid  such cases of fraud, we urge you to be vigilant. Such cases are under  constant control of the National Security Service of the Republic of  Armenia, and appropriate measures are being taken to identify  suspected perpetrators and hold them accountable in accordance with  the law," the statement reads.
