ArmInfo.Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, has been arrested for two months. The Yerevan City Criminal Court of First Instance, presided over by Judge Karen Farkhoyan, granted the investigator's motion.
According to Bishop Yerem Sargsyan, the court limited visits with the bishop, allowing only visits with his mother.
As a reminder, the bishop was arrested yesterday, October 15. He was charged under Article 149, Part 2, Clause 4 of the former Criminal Code (obstruction of the exercise of electoral rights) and Article 236, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (obstruction of holding a rally or participation in it, or coercion to do so).
