
ArmInfo. The "Artificial Intelligence Generation" school educational program, a collaboration between the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport and the Armenian Science and Technology Foundation (FAST), will now be extended to all regions of the country.
On October 14, an official event dedicated to the expansion of the program took place. The event was attended by Zhanna Andreasyan, Head of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, Andre Andonyan, Chairman of the FAST Board of Trustees, Noubar Afeyan, FAST co-founder, scientist, and businessman, representatives from partner organizations, program beneficiaries, and teachers.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, the event summarized the results of the second year of the program, which has been piloted in high schools across Armenia since 2023. It also outlined areas for its expansion. In the 2025/2026 academic year, approximately 1,000 students from 26 schools in 19 cities across all regions of Armenia participated in the "Generation AB" program, and in the 2024/2025 academic year, more than 600 students from 15 schools participated. It is expected that up to 45 schools will be included in the "Generation AB" program in the 2026/2027 academic year.
The Minister emphasized that technological education is becoming one of Armenia's visiting cards. In this regard, she spoke about the educational products that are recognizable and interchangeable in other countries. "Next week, we will discuss the Academic City" program-yet another ambitious initiative on the path to new quality and competitiveness in higher education and scientific research. All of these efforts demonstrate our state's clear priority in technological education," the Minister stated.
Schoolchildren who were part of the program spoke at the event. The achievements of Armenian schoolchildren at the Second International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) held in Beijing, China, from August 2 to 9, were also acknowledged. The Armenian team secured the 16th position in the team competition, with Aram Amirkhanyan earning a bronze medal in the individual competition. A total of 284 students from 60 countries participated in the Olympiad.
