Nine political forces apply for Vaharshapat local election

ArmInfo. Eleven political forces have submitted applications to the Central Election Commission of Armenia for user accounts to participate in the Vagharshapat Council of Elders elections scheduled for November 16, nine of which s to District Electoral Commission No. 14.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC) press service,  registered parties will be assigned their next numbers by lottery at  the CEC meeting on October 18.

As a reminder, the Vagharshapat Council of Elders elections will be  held on November 16, 2025. On May 13, the Corruption Prevention  Commission initiated administrative proceedings against former 

Vagharshapat Mayor Diana Gasparyan, and on May 15, she announced her  resignation. According to her, this decision was made due to the need  to "make a choice between family and work."

However, the Anti-Corruption Committee reported that "a criminal  investigation is underway into abuse of office, as well as providing  false information or concealing data in a tax return."
