


ArmInfo.Georgiy Kinoyan (Kinoiani), a 29-year-old Georgian citizen previously detained in Armenia, has been released. This information was confirmed to ArmInfo by Mariam Melkoyan, press secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Justice.
"I confirm, he has been released," Melkoyan said.
It was previously reported that Georgiy Kinoyan was detained in Armenia at the request of Russian law enforcement agencies. He was wanted for participating in hostilities on the Ukrainian side.
The day before, civil activist Georgiy Tumasyan reported that Georgiy Kinoyan was free. "Armenia refused to extradite him to Russia because it would be dangerous for him," Tumasyan stated.
Earlier, Vako Kinoyan, the brother of the released citizen, told reporters that a court in the Donetsk People's Republic sentenced Georgiy to seven years in prison for participating in hostilities on the Ukrainian side.
After this, on September 3, the man was detained on the territory of Armenia.
