Maria Corina Machado Parisca wins Nobel Peace Prize 

ArmInfo. Despite the support of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan for the nomination of US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, it went to another person.

Today, the Nobel Committee announced Venezuelan opposition leader  Maria Corino Machado as the 2025 Peace Prize laureate. She was  honored for her contribution to promoting democracy and protecting  human rights in Venezuela.

US President Donald Trump, who previously publicly stated that he  "deserves the Nobel Peace Prize" for his mediation of a number of  international agreements, including the Gaza peace settlement, was  not included on the list of laureates.

338 candidates were nominated for the Peace Prize this year,  including 244 individuals and 94 organizations.
