He asks, why not organize a public debate? "It's clear that RA Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan will insist to the end on a debate between  himself and the former presidents, certain that it won't happen.

He will insist more loudly and intensely as the elections approach.  The presidents' natural position is well known. But this won't stop  Nikol, because his problem isn't the debate. He'll continue to argue,  certain that it won't happen. This is the standard approach. But  there is also an unconventional solution. And who said this is a  matter for the four? Where is society, where is the electorate? Any  media outlet, NGO, or civic initiative can organize a remote debate  between Nikol, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh  Sargsyan without their participation. Without insults, without fuss,  solely on the facts. More precisely, this should be a debate not  about people, but about the results and facts recorded during their  time in power," he believes. The political scientist emphasizes that a very interesting and  important project could be created. It would create a good  "pre-election" process. "Show the results recorded in all the main  areas. This could be very interesting, and the "fight" unleashed by  this government against the "former" could take a completely  different, unexpected turn. A serious public project could be  created. To what extent can reality be built on lies? Security, the  negotiation process, economic results, the judicial system, urban  development, demography, etc., etc. In Armenia, one and a half  generations have known about life before 2018 only by hearsay, often  from Nikol. This cannot be allowed. Moreover, these "debates" can  continue at the next stage without Nikol, and this will be a natural  process. Ultimately, the concept of "former" must be destroyed.  Ter-Petrosyan, Kocharyan, Sargsyan are completely different people  and different figures, with different results in different issues. At  each stage, there were both serious successes and omissions and  mistakes. And we should not avoid talking about them openly. This is  our common history, from which it is impossible to "Leave. And this  process will undoubtedly help society overcome this nightmarish  period in 2026 and move forward, to a new chapter, to recovery.
