


ArmInfo. A roundtable discussion was held in Yerevan to discuss priorities for improving the healthcare system in penitentiary institutions.
As reported by the ministry's press service, Deputy Minister of Justice Gevorg Kocharyan, in his report "Improving Penitentiary Healthcare through Effective Information Exchange and Coordination," emphasized the priority of improving the healthcare system in penitentiary institutions. He emphasized the importance of protecting the health of inmates and ensuring access to quality medical services. The key role of maintaining medical confidentiality was discussed during the roundtable.
In this context, the Deputy Minister discussed the closure of the "Hospital for Convicts" penitentiary institution, noting that this step is aimed at improving the quality of medical services provided to convicts and detainees. The discussion was organized by the Office of the Human Rights Defender jointly with the Council of Europe's Yerevan office. It was part of the program "Further strengthening the protection of the rights of persons deprived of their liberty."
