


ArmInfo.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan remains confident that the events of March 1, 2008, have been disclosed. He expressed his conviction during a government hour in the National Assembly, in response to a question from Kristine Vardanyan, opposition Armenia faction deputy.
The MP, particularly, raised the issue of political persecution of opponents, noting that criminal cases are being initiated against opposition community leaders, and some are even killed, as happened to Volodya Grigoryan, head of the Parakar community. According to the opposition MP, approximately 70% of opposition figures in the country are subject to criminal prosecution. Vardanyan noted that only representatives of the ruling party are not persecuted in the country. In response, the Armenian leader recalled the murders committed under previous governments. mentioning the murder of ARF Dashnaktsutyun member Poghos Poghosyan in 2001 and Proshyan community leader Hrach Muradyan in 2013.
The opposition politician called on Pashinyan to instruct law enforcement to solve these crimes. According to her, it is unclear what is preventing the authorities from solving all high-profile murders, starting with the deaths during the events of March 1, 2008.
The Prime Minister disagreed with this assessment, noting that the March 1 case has been solved. However, he acknowledged that the perpetrators have not yet been punished, but he hopes they will be held accountable.
