ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in his address to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, emphasized the role of US President Donald Trump in establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
He noted that on March 13, Yerevan and Baku announced the completion of the draft agreement "On the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan" and were prepared for signing it. "However, without the personal involvement and efforts of US President Donald Trump, we would not have been able to achieve the results recorded on August 8 in Washington," he said. "At the White House, in Washington, D.C., we adopted a declaration formalizing the peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. President Trump, serving as a witness, also signed the declaration," Pashinyan continued.
The Armenian Prime Minister called this a historic event. "Peace is not a vacation or a holiday; peace is a daily work. Peace, like a newborn child, requires daily care. Our newborn peace is one month and 22 days old today, and it's our responsibility to cherish it, love it, and help it thrive, ensuring prosperity in our South Caucasus region," the Prime Minister noted.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also emphasized the importance of clarifying the fate of missing persons and resolving issues related to those imprisoned due to the long-standing conflict.
