
ArmInfo. The national report of the Republic of Armenia on its 4th Universal Periodic Review (UPR) was adopted in Geneva at the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reported this.
As noted in the statement, while presenting the national report, Ambassador Hasmik Tolmajyan, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the UN Office at Geneva, emphasized the importance of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) tools and recommendations addressed to Armenia within its framework, which are aimed at strengthening the human rights system. The Permanent Representative emphasized that Armenia has accepted the overwhelming majority of recommendations addressed to Armenia by UN member states during the discussion of the national report, which took place on May 1, 2025, at the 49th session of the UPR Working Group. She reaffirmed the Republic of Armenia's commitment to the protection and promotion of human rights in line with the reforms being implemented in Armenia.
In her speech, Tolmajyan highlighted priority areas for Armenia in the context of the Human Rights Council's recommendations and ongoing reforms, including economic, social, cultural, political, and civil rights.
Representatives of UN member states and NGOs in their statements emphasized Armenia's continued commitment to the protection and promotion of human rights and reaffirmed their support for the democratic reforms being implemented in the country.
