


ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has congratulated Moldovan President Maia Sandu on the victory of her political force, Action and Solidarity, in the parliamentary elections.
"I warmly congratulate Maia Sandu and the people of Moldova on the occasion of the results of parliamentary elections and strong dedication to advancing the European future of the country," he wrote on Twitter (X).
According to media reports, President Maia Sandu's pro-European Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), has won an absolute majority of seats in the new Moldovan parliament, as per preliminary results. After counting 100% of the votes, PAS secured 50.20% of the votes, granting them 55 out of the 101 seats in parliament. This is less than PAS had in the outgoing parliament (61 seats).
Another pro-European political organization, the Alternative bloc, is expected to receive 8 seats, according to preliminary results. The so-called pro-Russian Patriotic Bloc, according to the electoral commission, received 24.17% of the votes, earning 26 seats. The elections were held using party lists; to pass the threshold, a party needed to secure at least 5% of the vote, while a bloc needed at least 7%.
The Patriotic Bloc has already announced their intention to challenge the election results.
