ArmInfo. The TRIPP route is being discussed in a bilateral format between Armenia and the United States, and any third party, on which Armenia and the United States will reach an agreement, can be involved, as stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a briefing with Armenian journalists on September 29 in Strasbourg.
"Of course, the European Union is a reliable partner for us, and we are interested in attracting more and more reliable partners. But again, to be fair, it has been specified that this issue is being discussed between Armenia and the United States, and third parties can be involved if both sides agree," he stated. Referring to the fact that there are water pipelines in Meghri and local residents are concerned that this infrastructure could be damaged, Pashinyan stated: "Our agreements don't say that we will cut off the water, the bread, the air, or the electricity, but instead we will create a 'Trump route'.
" Why is it assumed that if there is a railway, there will be no water? Usually, the opposite happens: where there is a railway, there must be water, because without water, there cannot be a railway. Where there is a railway, there is bread; where there is a railway, there is prosperity. But in our case, if there is a railway, there is no bread, no water, no security, no people, no sovereignty, no territorial integrity? This is the ghetto logic instilled in us: we must live in isolation to preserve our identity, our security. But this is not true. On the contrary, in the modern world, we need to communicate a lot, we need to talk, we need to be understood." "We need to understand the world, and the world must understand us. And that's exactly what we're going to do now," he said.
"It's illogical to think that there will be peace without water. Hey, people, you must decide whether you want water or peace, as water and peace usually go hand in hand. In the event of war, there might not be water, because war is destruction, where running water, a railway, a road, a home, a hospital, a school, life, and relationships-everything can be destroyed. The residents of Meghri and the people of Armenia in general can also compare whether their lives were better or worse with the railway," the Armenian Prime Minister declared.
