ArmInfo. The installation of additional amplifiers in cars will be banned in Armenia. At its September 26 meeting, the National Assembly Committee on Defense and Security approved amendments to the Law on Road Safety and the Code of Administrative Offenses submitted by a group of parliamentarians.
According to Sergey Bagratyan, a co-author of the proposed initiative and a member of parliament from the ruling Civil Contract faction, cars playing loud music are very common on the streets, which has a moral, psychological, and physical impact on citizens. Loud music leads to increased noise pollution.
To prevent such occurrences, it is proposed to impose a fine of ten times the minimum wage and a deduction of two points from the 13-point scale for violations for drivers of these vehicles with amplifiers that do not meet established standards. The confiscation of these amplifiers is also planned.
In this regard, commission head Andranik Kocharyan warned all drivers of the upcoming consequences. "Be prudent, remember that from now on, playing loud music while driving will be strictly punished," the commission head stated.
