


ArmInfo.The delegation led by Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, President of the National Committee of the Francophonie Games, held meetings in Paris with officials responsible for protocol and international issues, transportation and mobility, as well as security issues of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The meetings are taking place in order to present the experience of the Paris 2024 Games and International Major Sports Events (GESI) within the framework of exchanges between Armenia and France for the organization of the Francophonie 2027 Games.
The parties discussed a number of issues related to the organization and protocol of receiving high-ranking officials, transportation, as well as internal security and crisis management.
An agreement was reached to deepen cooperation not only within the framework of the Francophonie Games, but also in the organization of major events in general.
The tenth Francophonie Games will be held in Yerevan in 2027. The sports in which athletes will compete have already been officially confirmed. 4,000 athletes from 50 countries are expected to participate. The host country, Armenia, has decided to add three sports to the program: weightlifting, team chess, and wheelchair basketball.
