


ArmInfo. Law enforcement officials in Armenia have uncovered another case of illegal drug purchases via Telegram.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service, officers from the Criminal Police's Anti-Drug Trafficking Department received intelligence that a 42-year-old resident of Nor Hachn was purchasing drugs online and selling them by posting ads at the entrances of buildings in various districts of Yerevan.
The intelligence was received on September 19. Around 1:30 PM, the 42-year-old man was detained on Garegin Nzhdeh Street in the capital and taken to the Shengavit district police station along with the Opel he was driving. A search revealed one package of marijuana and six packages of methamphetamine, totaling over 7 grams. The man reported purchasing six packages of methamphetamine through a Telegram ad.
The Shengavit District Investigative Department opened a criminal case, as part of which a search of the man's vehicle was conducted. During the search, 14 packages of methamphetamine, wrapped in transparent and white adhesive tape, weighing over 15 grams, were found and seized.
The 42-year-old man was arrested and taken to a correctional facility.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
