


ArmInfo. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin began his traditional annual visit to the Syunik region with a visit to the Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Plant. The Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation reported this, noting that it is one of the region's backbone enterprises, providing jobs for over 1,100 people-approximately a third of the entire population of Agarak.
General Director Alexander Belyaev gave a tour of the plant's operations, emphasizing that consistent steps are being taken to modernize technological processes, including increasing production volumes, extending the plant's service life, and enhancing its environmental friendliness.
The head of the Russian diplomatic mission also met with the leadership of the 127th Meghri Detachment of the Border Directorate of the Russian Federal Security Service and learned about the unit's current successful efforts to protect the Armenian-Iranian border.
