
ArmInfo. The murder of Volodya Grigoryan, head of the enlarged Parakar community, and his friend, police officer Karen Abrahamyan, was committed by a masked individual using a machine gun. This was reported by Artak Hovhannisyan, investigator for particularly important cases at the RA Investigative Committee, as quoted by the Investigative Committee's press service.
According to the investigator, Artsrun Galstyan was transferred to a medical center with gunshot wounds; his health condition is assessed as extremely serious. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation into the murders of Grigoryan and Abrahamyan, and an attempted murder case for Galstyan's wound.
A preliminary investigation is underway. Necessary and priority measures were immediately taken: an inspection of the crime scene was conducted, which revealed traces of blood and 18 spent bullet casings. CCTV cameras present at the scene have also been seized. A number of examinations, including forensic, genetic, and other tests, have been ordered, and witnesses have been questioned.
These measures are being carried out jointly with police officers and are aimed at expeditiously solving the crime and bringing the perpetrators to justice. According to CCTV footage, the perpetrator approached the scene on foot; he was not driving. Given the nature of the crime, the case has been transferred from the Armavir Investigative Department to the Main Directorate for Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. As of now, the identity of the shooter has not yet been established.
