
ArmInfo. A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Armenia Armen Mkrtchyan participated in the Global Conference on Public Security Cooperation in Lianyungang, China, from September 17 to 19.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the conference was attended by approximately 2,000 representatives from over 120 countries, international organizations, and educational institutions.
The participants discussed ways to jointly address existing challenges in public security, develop public security capacity, and establish more effective mechanisms for international cooperation.
For the first time, the conference featured thematic subconferences in such a format. The participants discussed contemporary challenges facing transnational crime, including the fight against synthetic drug trafficking, terrorism, Internet fraud, cybercrime, security issues related to artificial intelligence and new technologies, public safety, migration management, and cooperation in education.
During the visit, Mkrtchyan held meetings with heads of law enforcement agencies from various countries, discussing a range of issues related to law enforcement cooperation.
A delegation from the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs also participated in an exhibition of technological equipment for public safety.
The aim of the exhibition was to strengthen international cooperation in public safety technologies, promote the development of global security capabilities, and increase the visibility of companies in the field.
The exhibition also included meetings with several reputable organizations specializing in modern technologies, special equipment, and weaponry. Innovative solutions, scientific and technical equipment controlled by artificial intelligence, and other products were presented.
