Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II received Matias Perttulla, the Director of the Judeo-Christian Alliance Save Armenia, and Dr. Alveda King, civil rights advocate, ambassador of the Christian faith, and a niece of Martin Luther King, who is also a member of the Alliance's Board of Directors.
According to the Press Office of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, during the meeting, the Catholicos expressed gratitude to the members and supporters of the Alliance for their support of Armenia and the Armenian people, as well as for their efforts to ensure that the voice of the Armenian people is heard on international platforms.
The meeting discussed the challenges facing Armenia and regional security issues. His Holiness expressed concern over Azerbaijan's demands, the situation of prisoners of war in Baku, the rights of the Armenians of Artsakh, and the appropriation and destruction of Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage by Azerbaijan. In his speech, His Holiness emphasized the importance of the efforts of friendly countries and the international community to establish a just and lasting peace in the region.
Representatives of the Judeo-Christian Alliance "Save Armenia" expressed support for the Armenian Church and the Armenian people, sharing their concern over the violated rights of the Armenians of Artsakh and the preservation of the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh.
They emphasized that these issues should continue to be raised at the highest levels of the US government, assuring that Armenia will not be forgotten amidst the maelstrom of important global events.
