ArmInfo. Unblocking the region's economic infrastructure is crucial for the institutionalization of peace. Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan made this statement during his address at the 108th Rose-Roth Seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan.
The official mentioned that Armenia had presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project. It had received a positive response from its partners. "At the same time, based on the trilateral statement signed in Washington, a communications program, "Trump's Path to International Peace and Prosperity," will be created as part of the "Crossroads of Peace" project. The implementation of such programs will inevitably contribute to the growth of regional interdependence, which, in turn, will have a positive impact on maintaining peace. The peace achieved serves as a shining example of the bilateral and multilateral dialogue actively promoted by this platform," Grigoryan assured.
The Secretary of the Armenian Security Council also pointed out that Yerevan strongly believes that peace creates the best conditions for strengthening Armenia's security, establishing democratic institutions, and continuously developing its sovereignty and independence. "It is precisely this belief and the mandate for a peace agenda received from the people in 2021 that has led to the current situation. Under the current circumstances, Armenia will not only strengthen its statehood but also expand cooperation with its partners," Grigoryan added. He further noted that Armenia highly values its partnership with NATO in various formats. According to the Security Council Secretary, Armenia and NATO collaborate on the rule of law, transparency in multisectoral reforms, counter- terrorism, anticorruption efforts, and the development and implementation of defense reform programs.
"With the support of the NATO Defense Education Enhancement Program (DEEP), Armenia is currently implementing large-scale reforms in military education. Armenia has intensified its participation in the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo (KFOR), which underscores Armenia's willingness to strengthen its partnership with NATO.
We are working towards completing the development and implementation of the NATO Tailored Partnership Program (ITPP) as soon as possible to enhance the relationship between Armenia and NATO," he added.
