


ArmInfo. The 100th concert season of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia will kick off with the 17th Yerevan International Music Festival scheduled to take place from September 19 to November 2, 2025.
Tomorrow, the festival's grand opening will take place at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall, featuring a performance by the outstanding violinist Sergey Khachaturian, who has conquered leading international stages, under the baton of renowned Finnish conductor Pietari Inkinen. The program will include Jean Sibelius's Violin Concerto and symphonic poem "Finlandia," as well as Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 1 "Titan."
During the press conference, Pietari Inkinen admitted that his visit to Armenia was largely due to Sergey Khachatryan, whom he has known since participating in the Sibelius Violin Competition.
Regarding his work with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Inkinen said that rehearsals are going well and he is fascinated by the Armenian musicians, their professionalism, and their dedication to their craft in achieving the desired result.
A key event will be the world premiere of Yervand Yerkanian's symphonic work "Dedication," written by the composer for the 100th anniversary of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra.
The festival program as a whole will be diverse. The concert will also feature works by Mahler, Rimsky- Korsakov, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Khachaturian, Babajanyan, Bartok, Britten, Part and other composers.
