ArmInfo. Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili discussed the country's priorities and the nature of its relations with its neighbors.
On the program "Current Topics - with Maka Tsintsadze" on Georgia's First Channel, the Minister expressed her conviction that relations with neighbors are a key element of global security. According to her, relations with their neighbors are the Georgian authorities' top priority.
"Georgia has a strategic partnership with three neighbors - Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey. Relations with all three countries are very valuable to us," Bochorishvili stated.
She mentioned that, at the initiative of the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the first meeting of foreign ministers was held in Tbilisi, where the meeting of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia was discussed. "It was a very interesting first meeting. I am confident that in this format, and not only in this format, relations between us will continue and develop, and we are ready for this. We continue to work to ensure that issues important to the region, issues crucial to the region's security, are discussed, and we are participants in this process. Relations with Turkey are also very important to us. Turkey is an important player in the region and an important partner," the diplomat added.
She also noted that Georgia has implemented several important projects in the trilateral cooperation format with Azerbaijan and Turkey. According to Bochorishvili, this proves that these countries, through good- neighborly, friendly relations, can implement projects beneficial not only for their own countries but also for the wider region.
