ArmInfo. A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the kidnapping and beating of the husband of an employee of the Cadastre Committee. This was reported by the Investigative Committee. The organization of the crime is attributed to the head of the Cadastre Committee Suren Tovmasyan and the Secretary General of the department Mher Khachatryan.
A criminal case has been opened under Articles 195, part 2, paragraph 5 (physical violence committed by a group of persons) and 191, part 2, paragraph 5 (abduction of a person by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. A preliminary investigation is underway.
The day before, a video was distributed on the Internet in which a woman who introduced herself as a former employee of the Foreign Relations Department of the Cadastre Committee claims that the kidnapping and beating of her husband was organized by the Chairman of the Committee Suren Tovmasyan and the Secretary General Mher Khachatryan. According to the woman, it all started after she was illegally fired from the Committee.
The indignant husband called the head of the Cadastre Committee, but, having received no answer, sent a voice message. A few hours later, according to her, her husband was kidnapped and brutally beaten. It is noted that the beating lasted for several hours, and about fifty people participated in it.
The Cadastre Committee hastened to refute the information spread on the Internet, calling it fiction. <The information about the involvement of the head of the Cadastre Committee Suren Tovmasyan and the Secretary General Mher Khachatryan in the kidnapping and beating of a citizen does not correspond to reality>, - the department noted.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the received statement from a citizen about the beating, which was immediately processed in the prescribed manner and sent to the preliminary investigation body. The police are taking the necessary measures to clarify all the circumstances of the incident and the circle of persons involved, the law enforcement agency assured.
