ArmInfo. The ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) youth movement, along with representatives of the youth wing of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), held a protest in front of the government building in response to the visit of Turkish special representative Serdar Kilic to Yerevan.
The protesters held posters with photographs of Armenian prisoners of war in Baku and chanted "No to renunciation." The protest was organized, according to the statement, because the public is unaware of the agenda of negotiations between Yerevan and Ankara. The ARF representatives are confident that new demands will be presented to the Armenian side during this visit, which they will be required to fulfill.
"We are here to demonstrate our disagreement with the policy pursued by the authorities. Turkey, after 100 years, is still not ready for a dialogue with Armenia without conditions. Moreover, it is a participant in the aggression committed against Armenia and Artsakh," said one of the representatives of the ARF youth movement.
The participants of the action pointed out that peace with Turkey and Azerbaijan is impossible as long as Armenian prisoners of war are being held in Baku and the Artsakh population is unnable to return to their homeland. In this regard, they called on Serdar Kilic, as proof of his willingness to build real peace, to visit the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial to the Victims of the Armenian Genocide, the Armenian Genocide Museum, the families of prisoners of war, the Yerablur military pantheon, to see the real Armenia.
In a conversation with journalists, Gor Sargsyan, a member of the Yerevan city committee of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun", explained that the purpose of the action is not to demonstrate an unwillingness to improve relations with neighbors. However, according to him, it is impossible to improve relations while negotiations are conducted without taking into account Armenia's interests.
