ArmInfo. The Geghard Scientific and Analytical Foundation has filed a complaint regarding the anti-Armenian policy of the Cuban magazine "Universidad y Sociedad".
As ArmInfo was informed by the press service of the foundation, In recent years, the journal "Universidad y Sociedad" has systematically published articles by Azerbaijani authors containing pseudo-scientific and anti-Armenian statements. "Particularly, the published articles distort the events of 1915 in the Ottoman Empire. They are described not as Genocide, but as a "clash between Armenians and Turks" during the civil war, which resulted in forced migration," the foundation clarified.
Furthermore, as Geghard noted, the articles accuse Armenians of killing "518 thousand Turks," make territorial claims against the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, and contain materials that distort the history of Nakhichevan. "Additionally, the territory of Armenia is presented as "Western Azerbaijan," which is also a territorial claim of Azerbaijan against the Republic. And these ideas are actively promoted by Azerbaijani historians," the report notes.
In connection with the situation, the Geghard Foundation has contacted Citma certificado, Emerging Sources Citation Index, Sci Elo Cuba, Doaj, Citas Latinoamericanas en Ciencias, Rebit, Latindex databases with a request to provide an ethical assessment of the studies presented in the journal. "If necessary, the foundation is ready to present to interested organizations and parties reasoned, more detailed comments, considerations regarding the distortions, historical falsifications, anti-Armenian and anti- scientific manifestations contained in the above-mentioned articles," Geghard summarized.
