ArmInfo. The Mother Armenia opposition bloc will take part in the upcoming November 16 elections in the Vagharshapat community. According to a message received by ArmInfo, the leader of the opposition bloc, Andranik Tevanyan, stated this.
He emphasized that the main goal of their participation is to once again deprive the ruling Civil Contract party of power. "We are convinced that changes are needed both in the community and at the national level, and one of the reasons for them is the elections expected in Vagharshapat on November 16. Through joint efforts, it will be possible to achieve political changes both in the community itself and in the Republic. And therefore, we call on you to join our struggle to implement these changes," Tevanyan emphasized.
The list of the bloc, as the politician noted, will be headed by Grisha Harutyunyan and David Karapetyan, and the office will be located on Azgaldyan Street 5/77. "We expect active cooperation and your visits to voice the problems that the community is facing," the oppositionist summed up.
The elections to the Council of Elders of the enlarged community of Vagharshapat will be held on November 16, 2025. On May 13, the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption initiated proceedings on an administrative offense against the former mayor of Vagharshapat (better known as Echmiadzin - ed.) Diana Gasparyan, and on May 15 she announced her resignation. According to her, this decision was made due to the need to "make a choice between family and work."
