ArmInfo. Next week, the Council on Constitutional Reforms will hold a meeting, and a new package of materials has already been sent to the members of the Council. The Minister of Justice of Armenia Srbuhi Galyan informed journalists about this during a briefing on September 11.
She noted that another meeting will be held in September. "We need to increase the intensity of the Council's work so that the text of the new Constitution is ready by the deadlines we promised," the Minister emphasized.
Responding to a question about whether a reference to the Declaration of Independence will be included in the new Constitution, the head of the Ministry of Justice noted that this issue has not yet been discussed. In this regard, Galyan once again assured that if any decisions are made, the public, specifically the media, will be informed about them.
She refrained from sharing her personal stance on this issue, noting that she would be ready to speak out only after discussions. "Each expert has their own formed position, but I do not think that this is the platform where this issue should be discussed now. If it becomes a topic of discussions in different setting and with other specialists involved, then I will be prepared to speak on it," the Minister concluded.
