Sports chools to be constructed in Vanadzor, Geghakert, Shamut

ArmInfo.  Sports schools named after Vakhtang (Vik) Darchinyan, Yuri Sargsyan and Stepan Sargsyan will be built in Vanadzor, Geghakert and Shamut. The corresponding project was presented by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MONKS) Zhanna Andreasyan at a government meeting on September 11.

According to the minister, within the framework of the project,  Vakhtang Darchinyan, Yuri Sargsyan and Stepan Sargsyan are ready to  donate their own land plots on Zoryan Street in Vanadzor to the  Republic of Armenia. A boxing sports school will be built on their  basis, which will be named after Vakhtang Darchinyan.

Financing for the construction of the sports school named after  Vakhtang Darchinyan is planned to be included in the program for  2026-2028.

At the same time, instead of the land donated by Yuri Sargsyan, the  Geghakert Children's and Youth Sports School named after Yuri  Sargsyan will be renovated, and instead of the land donated by Stepan  Sargsyan, a sports school will be built in the Shamut community of  Lori region. After the project is adopted, the new sports facility  will be assigned to the Ministry of Education and Science of the  Republic of Armenia and transferred to the Sports Management Center  CJSC with the right to free use.
